Still using IE8 which is MISI packaged by our company's "certify" group....
which means that certain Admin templates are predefined. Like the Enable third-party browser extensions is off (Not Configured) by our defaults. This means that the GCF (Google Chrome Frames) extension doesn't get activated when surfing sites that send with responses the HTTP header X-UA-Compatible (equal with chrome=1). If I enable via gfedit.msc:
Computer Configuration->admin templates-> win components -> IE -> internet control panel -> advanced page
The GCF works fine. The downside is that all of the 3rd party extensions are active. Little too extreme. Found the following link on the ITSC forum (search for "64-Windows-Get-rid-of-those-toolbars-and-add-ons-in-Internet-Explorer") that shows how to activate extensions through the Security Features thenAdd-on Management with gpedit.
And activated the following Google extensions: ChromeFrame BHO, Google Update Plugin, and Chrome Frame. Unfortunately GCF isn't activated. Not even sure if X-UA-Compatible is honored. Is there another way to "white-list" stuff like GCF?
Thanks in advance / Matthew Young
