Hi all,
I am having issues getting into some web pages. Not all, just some. I can usually get onto the website ok but when I go to book something like a flight or accommodation it will not allow me to get into that screen and it comes up with the following message:
So, for instance, recently I tried to book a flight on-line with Jet Blue. I could get into the site but as soon as I tried to make a booking I got the following message:
I have tried deleting cookies and disabling add ons and even doing a dnsflush but none of this has worked.
Hi, I have an application which implements a search feature using a post request. When the search results are returned with a header (Content-Type:text/html) IE10 prompts me to open or save the file. When I choose to open the file,I am prompted to choose an application to open the file and when I decided to open it with notepad, the file is populated with the html markup. I am using java sockets to write the content to the browser. I also use a header<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=8"/> .Could someone suggest a workaround to open the page normally please.
Thanks
Hi,
I am not able to call "CoInternetIsFeatureEnabled" My URlMon.h is from "c:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v7.0A\Include\UrlMon.h". I am getting "'CoInternetIsFeatureEnabled': identifier not found".
Can somebody tell, what might be the reason. How can I use this function in my program.
Thanks
Santhi
Hi,
Please add masteringphysics.com to your official domain list of flash supported websites for specifically modern IE10 on Windows RT, because it should work without any problem. Thank you.
Cheers,
Michael
On a PC running Windows XP SP3 using Internet Explorer 8, whenever the users starts typing in a search string, the infamous message box appears stating IE encountered an error and is closing, do you want to sent a report to Microsoft? I have found that if you clear out temporary internet files, it will work for one or two searches and then start failing even before you finish typing in the search string. This problem persists after changing the default search engine from Google to Live Search to Web search.
Apparently some buffer is filling up but I don't know where to look to what else to try. Suggestions or a fix would be greatly appreciated.

We have a significant number of users still on Windows XP and running IE8 and we have noticed over the past year a recurring problem with the widely discussed issue of images being randomly replaced with Red X on web pages. It took several weeks of reserarch and testing to resolve the first one when it came along. We tried compatibility mode, clearing the Internet Cache, Resetting IE8 to defaults, uninstalling and reinstalling IE8 completely among others. None completely resolved the issue.
I finally stumbled across an answer that, unfortunately, I can no longer find that indicated the issue could be caused by corruption in the TCP/IP stack and it could be fixed by repairing the stack using the commennetsh int ip reset. This did indeed solve the problem and has continued to do so for the users who have developed the same problem.
I'm hoping these comments may help others who may still be frustrated with similar issues but I'd also like to pose a secondary questiuon; why do we continue to see this issue pop up? Since XP is no longer supported I can't really expect to get much help there but I'm curious if there is some issue between IE8 and Windows XP or perhaps some third party application causing these issues to continue to plague our users. '
ince we will be stuck with XP for at least another year thanks to budget limitations, I thought it worth investigating further in hopes of digging up some idea of the root cause of the IP stack problem so we can attack that and prevent the Red X issue entirely.
Does anyone have any thoughts on this or can you suggest methods I might use to dig into what may have caused the IP stack corruption in the first place? Thanks in advance for any ideas.
Thanks...Ray
When I try to save a file to a disconnected network folder that is available via offline files with IE9 nothing happens. The banner "Do you want to open or save ... from ...?" is still displayed on the bottom of the page after choosing the download location and the download does not start. When I choose a local folder everything works fine. I have already reset my Internet Explorer settings. Is this a bug in Internet Explorer 9? OS is Windows 7.
Hi,
I am developing a monitoring software. Where I want to record the information about file downloads from the IE. I am looking for the event DISPID_FILEDOWNLOAD and whenever this event signaled I am recording the URL and Download File Name. But for IE8 this got fired twice. Example link below.
"http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8279" If I click on "DOWNLOAD" button that redirects me for confirmation, information bar appears "To help Protect your security, IE blocked this site...." (The first DISPID_FILEDOWNLOAD event signaled here). And When I right click and click on "Download File" another event DISPID_FILEDOWNLOAD signalled. But for IE9 it happens only once, as there was no prompt.
Can somebody suggest me alternate solution. How can I know about actual download? and I don't see IE8 and IE9 use IEFrame!DoFileDownLoad? Is there any API that I can hook to know about the FileDownload.
Thanks in advance. I really appreciate any pointers on this.

I'm running Windows 7 in virtual environment for educational purposes so i establish remote desktop logins into it but i keep having an issue with IE9. For some reason EI9 would not respond on certain sites, like yahoo, or MSN or basically major sites on regular user logins but it works just fine in the administrative account. Every time i go to yahoo IE takes forever to load, it doesnt give me any type of errors its only a black page for a while then the site comes up.Furthermore, IE will freeze and lock the pc up. I found it very unusual because i never had a problem with Windows 7. Ive read and tried all kinds of things, i change quite a settings under the advance tab, on internet options, disable ipv6 but nothing seems to work. I would really appreciate some suggestions
MY HOTMAIL SITE KEEPS FREEZING AND PRESENTING A DIALOGUE BOX STATING, ”We can’t connect to Hotmail right now. Please try again later” Then, "Internet Explorer has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.”
I NEVER, NEVER HAD PROBLEMS LIKE THIS BEFORE I INSTALLEDSILVERLIGHT AND WINDOWS LIVE ESSENTIALS ON JULY 27TH.
On 27 July I was prompted by Windows to install Silverlight and Windows Live Essentials in order to update Windows on my new computer. ALMOST IMMEDIATELY, MOST OF MY WEBSITES STARTED CRASHING AND FREEZING. Dialogue BOX: "Internet Explorer has stopped working.
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.”). I UNINSTLALLED WINDOWS LIVE ESSENTIALS BUT THE PROBLEM PERSISTED. I UNINSTALLED SILVERLIGHT AND THE PROBLEMS WENT AWAY – FOR
ABOUT 30 MINUTES. THANK YOU MSFT!!!
NOW: 1) MY HOTMAIL DISCONNECTS EVERY TIME I TRY TO OPEN ANY FOLDER BESIDES “INBOX” (”We can’t connect to Hotmail right now. Please try again later”) AND 2) ALL WEBSITES CRASH RANDOMLY ("Internet Explorer has stopped working. A problem caused the program to
stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.”) AND, 3) MY BROWSING SPEED IS HALF WHAT IT WAS BEFORE SILVERLIGHT/WLE HELPED ME (CONSTANT spinning blue little circle).
SILVERLIGHT/WLE SCREWED UP A PERFECTLY FUNCTIONING BROWSER SYSTEM. I GUESS I NEED TO SHIFT TO GOOGLE CHROME OR FIREFOX – ANYTHING THAT DOESN’T LOCK UP MY BROWSING AND E-MAIL EVERY SECOND I AM ON LINE. Will I have to switch to G-MAIL if I use GOOGLE CHROME instead of WINDOWS EXPLORER? I guess I can ask some of my many friends and family who have already made the switch. And I thought they were overreacting!
CLEARLY, “UNINSTALL” DOES NOT CLEAN OUT ALL THE CRAP LEFT BEHIND BY SILVERLIGHT/WINDOWS LIVE NON- ESSENTIALS. IT WILL PROBABLY TAKE ANTI-VIRUS SOFTWARE.
STOP ! STOP HELPING ME, MICROSOFT. DO NOT PUT UP DOWNLOADS IF THEY ARE DYSFUNCTIONAL.!!! 25 YEAR, soon-to-be-former, MSFT CUSTOMER

Hi all,
I've been trying to get my head around an issue at our location where saving files from Internet Explorer 9 to a network drive (shared folder), we get the "Save As" prompt twice, and no file is saved.
Using ProcMon, i saw "Access Denied" messages when trying to create a ".partial" file, during the save.
We have quite a few shares that we're accessing with "Modify" share permissions "only".
Apparently, when using IE9, we need the "Full Control" share permission instead. At least, giving "Full Control" at the share level makes the save go through successfully.
ProcMon says:
Date & Time: 11-04-2011 12:06:52
Event Class: File System
Operation: CreateFile
Result: ACCESS DENIED
Path: \\<server>\<share>\<folder>\<folder>\image001.gif.5h6bugl.partial
TID: 6768
Duration: 0.0022052
Desired Access: Read Attributes, Read Control, Write Owner, Synchronize
Disposition: Create
Options: Synchronous IO Non-Alert, Non-Directory File
Attributes: N
ShareMode: None
AllocationSize: 0
Is this expected behaviour? Do we have to change all our share permissions or is there a setting in IE that we're missing?!
Thanks for any input you can send in my direction.

Hi all,
When I try to download a file that is not a setup file (In example words, PDFs, excels..etc) I don't get the file itself, instead I get the link of the attachment like this one:
attachment_ashx?attach=1&id=RgAAAAB%2bADsKuDSuS49sjeIsrwNtBwDRR4YmsoniS7KkWfkAVpHzAZ4PQzPMAACQ1W9r48ySQLwQuNYE7Y18AT%2f0151YAAAJ&attid0=EAA5CUknOL1ZR7rFxaPkrLZV&attcnt=1
When I click save or save as nothing happens and in download manager I recieve an error stating that the file couldn't be downloeded! I have tried everything with the internet options settings but yet the same issue.
Note: We are in our company applying some security policies and we are migrating to IE 9 and this issue persist. In addition, when I log in with a full administrator account it works fine but we want the users to download..
Any Ideas,
Regards,
