End-User is running IE8 32-bit on Win7 Enterprise x64. He recently had a password change, but that was about 1 week prior to the problem. He's unable to access Internet sites; just gets 'connection could not be established.' He can get to intranet just fine. He can also get to Internet when in Terminal Server sessions. I remoted in and verified the problem. Saw nothing in the event logs. I ran NETSH WINSOCK RESET frm an elevated cmd prompt. Same result. Oddly, I don't see the Connections tab under his Internet Options . Advanced. When I logged in with my credentials, I was also missing the Connections tab - I want to check the proxy script. I am able to access the Internet with no problems. I ran the Troubleshooter with him logged in and it said only that it had a problem connecting to the homepage site.
I'm thinking it may be Group Policy, that I need to run GPUPDATE /FORCE. But, I thought I'd run this by all of you to see what I might be missing.
