After years of reaping the benifits of others experiance, I am 1st time posting my issue.
Due to compatibility issues using IE9 with online software ERP. I was forced to uninstall the IE9 update to
downgrade to IE8. After removing the update and rebooting IE would not launch.
attempting to open system manager resulted in MMC requires internet explorer
5.5 or greater to be installed. The folder in C:\program files\Internet
Explorer\ is practically empty with no .exe. Download IE8 and even IE9 through
another browser but will not install, errors with Internet Explorer 8 is not supported on this operating (got it from MS for server 2008 X64 system. IE9 Internet Explorer did not finish installing. Cannot rename
machine.config file as it states I do have permissions even though I am domain admin. <o:p></o:p>
Have tried researching
for hours and tried multiple suggestions. I am at wits end and must get this
production server up for tomorrow AM. SOS.
