Todays (15th Aug) updates seem to be causing me a problem with IE9 and cookies.
Dell Vostro 3750 running W7 Pro x64 Standard installation with no day to day changes to OS
Problem...
After installing all the offered updates I went to clear IE9 cache (browsing history) of all possible files, something I have done countless times in the past.
I then imported my cookie file as normal and found that site login info wasn't present when visiting sites. I was being prompted on all sites to log in. So I deleted all again and imported the cookies again with the same result. No login info present.
I then entered the login info manually for a couple of sites, exited IE9 and then revisited. All cookie/login data gone.
My IE9 settings are the same as always.
So now I revert back 24 hours with Acronis disc image and try again. This time I DO NOT install the offered updates but clear the browser cache as before. As expected there is no problem and the imported cookies are fine and work correctly.
I then install the nine updates and IE9 is broken again.
(I'm reluctant to try any tweaks etc as I don't believe there is anything wrong with the basic OS and settings but have filed this problemto see if any other similar complaints or issues arise from other users.)
More info. Back to the clean W7 Acronis image and now I install just the "cummulative IE9 security update". All login cookies fail.
I manually input details for one site as a test and access it OK.
I close IE9 and revisit the site. No go... no login data present.
Now I uninstall just that update and repeat the above test. Login and cookies all work everytime on opening and closing IE9
