Following the installation of KB2722913 on Windows 7 on an HP all-in-one desktop machine, an error was receiveed, reporting that the DNS server wasn't responding. However, I found that ping requests didn't work (except pinging to and from any IP address on the local machine (not local network)) and I couldn't load any Web page, including that of the router config page. I narrowed this down to KB2722913. Uninstalling the update didn't fix the problem, though: system restore did that. However, re-installing the update broke the network again so I'm sure it's that.
A Netsh reset of the IP stack didn't fix the problem and neither did disabling/re-enabling the NIC etc.
I'm surprised not to have seen any other report of this problem.
Anybody else seen this? And would Microsoft kindly fix the problem so the update can be installed?

PS NB (this means pay attention to this bit): I may not be able to provide further information on this problem. The machine is a client's and is not local to me. I don't propose another visit soon unless it's necessary.
