I have the standard GPO set up for default homepage in the domain, i.e. User Configuration\Windows Settings\Internet Explorer Maintenance\URLs\Important URLs and this GPO works on Windows 7 clients and shows the specified URL (It isn't forced to stay on that page using other GPOs, users can change it if they want to).
However on Windows 8 it appears to have no effect, HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main does not show the setting being applied. Goes to the default URL, i.e. http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/p/?LinkId=255141 However the
key Default_Page_URL does not exist.
Am I doing something wrong here or is this by design?
If it is by design is there an alternate method of doing it, I'm sure I could push out a registry change but it seems excessively complex for something I can usually do quite easily.
