Hi,
I asked about this on the Microsoft form too but no one has responded yet, so I thought I'd try this one.
Two nights ago IE 9 stopped working properly. When I launch it, all I see is a blank page (MSN's homepage). I can tell that's it's trying because the circle keeps spinning. Some pages will load partially...if I click on someone's blog, just their background
will appear.
The only change I made was a Java update. I'm currently running the Java version required for IE9, and everything else is up to date.
IE works when I right click the icon and run as administrator. (Something I can't keep doing.) While it was working, I checked my connection settings and they appear normal. No proxy settings.
Any ideas as to what could be the problem? I've run full scans of everything and they're clean. Everything is up to date.
I also ran Microsoft FixIt. This solved the problem, but for some reason it also un-checked the "protection enabled" option. When I checked the box and reopened the browser, I was back to square one...IE stopped loading.
Please bear in mind that I'm completely technically challenged. :)
Thanks. I'm using Windows Vista, 32 bit.
