I have Windows 8 RTM, It is also a member of a Windows Server 2008 R2 domain.
At first when I joined the domain, everything was fine, Internet Explorer was there, and working perfectly. Then my Domain Controller broke down, and my backup to that server was corrupted, I had to re install the domain controller, and rejoin the Windows 8 computer to the domain, then suddenly Internet Explorer 10 disappeared completely from Start Screen, not even when I click on all apps, or search; however, I can still open the desktop version if I go to it's program files location, I can also see it in the default programs window.
In case you are wondering, I also tried the local account, with the same result.
I've tried the following to no avail:
1. Removing it from the features, and adding it again.
2. Making it the default browser.
3. Creating a shortcut of iexplore.exe and pinning it to the start screen gave me access only to the desktop menu.
4. When I launch the Bing metro app and click on a search result it shows me the metro version, but when I try to pin a site, nothing would show up in the start screen.
5. If I don't close the metro version after opening it through Bing, I can see an empty box on the left side of the screen when I take the mouse up to the left corner, and when I click on it it goes to IE10.
I am scratching my head here, and it's kinda hard since I just had surgery :)
Any help would be appreciated.
PS: My Windows 8, and Internet Explorer 10 are both RTM versions, I just wanted to mention that since there are no RTM choice in the forum creation options.
Thank you,
Regards,
Nas Makkiya
