Environment: Windows 2008 R2 SP1, Office 2010 SP1, IE9 + all latest patches.
When I open an Excel or Word document from IE9 and choose the option 'Open' it takes about 20 seconds before Word/Excel opens. There is a downloading dialog displaying, when I cancel that it opens immediatley.
When I do save as, and save it first and open it then through Windows Explorer everything is instant. Open Office files from network shares or opening Office files directly from Firefox is instant as well, the problem occurs only when I choose 'Open' in Internet Explorer. This is annoying since we have several CMS systems that allow you to download DOC and XLS files.
I've seen a lot of topics where ppl claimed that switching of 'Auto detect settings' in the Internet Explorer connection option worked, but that doesn't seem to work for me. On a similar server but with Office 2003 everything is fast as well so I really think it's an Office 2010 issue.
