I am running Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 with all current updates and IE 9.
Starting yesterday, if I click on a link to a web site anywhere to open IE, it opens with "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage." Same message if I put the full URL in the Run line.
If I directly start IE, and click on the link, the web site will open perfectly.
I have cleared the cache, disabled add-ons, removed all 3rd party download accelerators.
Still the same problem.
If I open AutoTask from Outlook Add-Ins, the 64bit version of IE opens perfectly.
I have reset the association for http & https to IE.
Update:
If I change the http association to Safari, it will start fine from a link in a document or a URL in the start line.
Disabled all add-Ins, no change.
If IE starts from link and displays the 'cannot display..." message, it cannot reach any URLs manually entered on that tab or any new tabs.
Not a networking or DNS issue as IE works fine if started manually and then the URLs are entered.
