IE9 "Save [Target] As" to network drive fails

Hi all,

I've been trying to get my head around an issue at our location where saving files from Internet Explorer 9 to a network drive (shared folder), we get the "Save As" prompt twice, and no file is saved.

Using ProcMon, i saw "Access Denied" messages when trying to create a ".partial" file, during the save.

We have quite a few shares that we're accessing with "Modify" share permissions "only".
Apparently, when using IE9, we need the "Full Control" share permission instead. At least, giving "Full Control" at the share level makes the save go through successfully.

ProcMon says:
Date & Time: 11-04-2011 12:06:52
Event Class: File System
Operation: CreateFile
Result: ACCESS DENIED
Path: \\<server>\<share>\<folder>\<folder>\image001.gif.5h6bugl.partial
TID: 6768
Duration: 0.0022052
Desired Access: Read Attributes, Read Control, Write Owner, Synchronize
Disposition: Create
Options: Synchronous IO Non-Alert, Non-Directory File
Attributes: N
ShareMode: None
AllocationSize: 0

Is this expected behaviour? Do we have to change all our share permissions or is there a setting in IE that we're missing?!

Thanks for any input you can send in my direction.
