HTML Page works from Network Share, but not local PC?

$

Hi All,

I hope you can help.

I have got some webpages that I use that when you open them, you can post data into the text box and then press send which posts the data on my behalf. This is used for diagnostics of code. However, when run from my local PC, rather than seeing my text boxes appear and working correctly, I see the html code in the window where the textbox should be. More irritating, is that if I move my file to a network resource, and run directly from the network drive, it runs and loads the page correctly...

Can anyone advise what may be wrong?

Many Thanks

James

IE Tips and Tricks?

[I am referring to the legacy desktop IE on Windows 8.]

I have too many problems with too many web sites, especially those that need Java.  It is consuming too much of my time investigating.  Are there any gotchas or configuration settings required to get IE 10 to run properly?

I am now working around by running a copy of Windows 7 in a VM in the same PC.  The problem with that is that networking in Hyper-V will only work with a cabled Ethernet and not the Wi-Fi adapter on my Dell notebook.  I am thus tethered down if I need to use those web sites with Java.

With the fact that the same website is running fine in one window but not another on the same physical PC, I can't go and ask the web site owners to do something about their web pages.

Thanks.

Hi,

Problem:

When printing one (or any odd amount) page from IE with a printer set to duplex printing, IE adds one extra, empty page to the printjob.

I have tried this with various printers.

KB889333 adresses this problem for IE<8, not for IE9/Win7.

Dous anyone have a solution?

How do I stop IE 9 from blocking websites from displaying content with security certificate errors?

How do I stop IE 9 from blocking websites from displaying content with security certificate errors? Every site that I visit, I get this message, and I keep clicking and clicking and most of the times, the photographs go blank.

THen when I try to sign into my facebook page, I get Access denied, you do not have permission to access.

THis has absolutely got to be the very worst Internet Explorer version that I have ever used in over  20 years of use. I am very VERY close to not using IE atoll and use Firefox, or Chrome or even Safari.

ie9 does not open csv - but will save or save as.

I am a developer who is serving a CSV file via Apache using a mine type of text/csv.

This method presently works as expected in Safari,Firefox and IE 8. On IE9 running on Windows 7 get the following dialogs when I select Open.

Save and Save As work as expected.

Task manger at the time showed Total memory 4055 MB, Cached 1612, Available 1866 and free 288.

Also Excel is launched and loaded with the CSV using Open with all of the other browsers.

Any suggestions?

I just heard on the news that if I use Internet Explore my computer could be at risk.  Has Microsoft come up with a fix for the problem?

Thank you.

Technet Subscriptions Website in IE10 Solution.

I had installed Windows8 Enterprise. I went to TechNet.Microsoft.com to download one of my software. The Akamai download manager did not come up. I tried my download manager FDM and it would not work because Microsoft would not allow it. I tried Internet Explorer 10 downloader it would not resume if there was an interruption due to Microsoft. I went to Akamai and downloaded the download manager and the Akamai download manager would still not work. I then went under the hood as to day and added the TechNet website to Compatibility mode website list. I then went to try to download the software for the severalest time and good news I got the popup to install the Akamai download Manager. I then finally got my software. When I installed Windows 8 it uninstalled my McAfee Security. I went to my account page to download my software and was unable to do so. I added McAfee to the compatibility list and the website worked and I was able to get my McAfee Security reinstalled. I have a web-based e-mail account Mail.com and their website did not work in IE 10. I added it to the list and it works now. The website reports back to me that I am using an older IE and offers a link to download a newer version. So if the website is not working in IE10 as it did in IE9 add the website to the compatibility website list in Internet Explorers' options - I hope this helps you.

IE9 - Unable to include port numbers in URL

Hi

I'm running IE9 on Windows 7.  I have a server with separate http services running on ports 80 and 8080.  If I type 192.168.1.250 IE opens the page (at the service on port 80).  However if I type 192.168.1.250:80 or 192.168.1.250:8080 I get redirected to search.imesh.com with a search for 192 168 1, which I assume means the page cannot be found.

Chrome works as expected (ie opens all the pages), so I feel it must be something peculiar to IE.

Can anyone explain what the problem is and how to fix it?

Many thanks.

Paul

IE9 - Not able to resolve server name

Hi

I have IE9 on windows 7.  I also have an http service running on a server.  If I type "ping server1" in a command prompt the name gets resolved by DNS to the address 192.168.1.250 and the server responds to the ping.  However if I then type server1 into the address bar of IE9 I get redirected to a search page with "Your search for server1 did not match with any Web results".  Chrome works as expected opening the page using either the IP address or the server name, so I'm assuming it's an IE problem.
Can anyone suggest what the problem is and how to fix it?
Many thanks

I'm using ipv6 at home for testing and I don't want to disable the protocol for the workstations. I'm aware that IE is fully ipv6 compliant but I have 10-20ms connectivity to major sites on ipv4 and on ipv6 (tunnelled) 200ms so I want to use for browsing only ipv4. How can I force IE browser to only use ipv4? Thank you.

IE9 & 8 not showing title of email when minimized

Hello,

I posted this question originally in the office365 forums and the reply was to restore advanced settings and reset internet explorer, which didn't work.

I'm sure this is a setting somewhere is Internet Explorer, but I can't seem to find it. I have two users using ie8 on XP machines, I'm using IE9 & Firefox on Win7. One XP user wants the subject of the email to display when the email is opened and minimized, like it does for the other XP user. In my testing with my IE9 doesn't display the subject it displays the url as seen below.

But firefox does as seen below

Please advise...

Using Win 7 with IE 9 and Windows Live Mail 2011.   When I use to send "Link as Email" it would send as hypertext.  Suddenly it no longer does.  How to return this functionality.  Thank you.  I believe this is a Windows problem because it also is the situation with my Chrome browser.

Determine if Internet Explorer Enhanced Security is enabled

Due to the notice of the Security Advisory 2757760 coming out for the exploit of IE, we would like to check to see if any of our servers have the Enhanced Security disabled.  Is there a script of some other way to check to see if it is enabled on our server.  I really dont have the time to log in to all of our servers and check one by one.

Thanks

I am trying to print an application form I need to fill out from the NBC network website.  I need to print this in order to fill it out to be mailed.  Every time I click on the "download" link, the application loads and immediately a "run time termination error from internet explorer" message appears.  I have Adobe reader, so I do not understand why this continues to happen.  Any suggestions on how I can fix this in order to print the form?

IE9 Download Manager Extremely Slow and Other Bugs

$

Hi all

I like the sped and functionality of IE9 and it runs perfectly on my system, however why is it when the download manager downloads a file it takes forever - no matter what file and from where?  I usually have to use the old "Right click and Save file as" option to get the file to download at a normal speed.  Why is this the case?  Also sites like http://au.playstation.com are painfully slow to load and dont display correctly either - scroll bars dont apperad to move up and down the screen either.  Additionally, typing a reply to a forum thread on Playstation makes the cursor dissapear from the text box and it never re-appears again.  Is this because the site has not been re-designed to accommodate IE9?
