I am having an issue with Internet Explorer 8 on pre-Win7 machines. I am attempting to download a file from a secure site and on the Windows 7 machines I am able to do so. I just click on the pop-up bar at the bottom of the window.
However, on my thin clients with Windows xp Embedded Standard 2009 and on my Windows Server 2003 I get the following error.:
Internet Explorer cannot download {filename} from {servername}.
Internet explorer was not able to open this internet site. The requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found. Please try again later.
I have verified that the "Do not save encrypted pages to disk" option under Internet Tools > Advanced is unchecked. I have also gone into Internet Tools > Security and added the site to the Trusted Sites zone. Then I went into the Custol Level of the Trusted Sites and, under Downloads, selected 'Enable' for "Automatic prompting for file downloads".
How can I remedy this problem?
