Since downloading updates mid January, IE9 won't open (windows live) email attachments and certain web pages when clicking on a hyperlink.
If I right click on the email attachment or hyperlink, the options to open are grayed out.
If I click on a word document, a pdf file, or a picture attached to my email, I get the pop-up at the bottom asking if I want to open, save or cancel. When I click on open, the attachment goes through the security scan, and then nothing happens. When
I click on save, the attachment is saved to the 'Downloads' folder, and I am asked if I want to open. Clicking on open does nothing. I have to open the 'Downloads' folder to find my attachment so I can open it. As far as hyperlinks, I have found
html documents and a link to download a toolbar that wouldn't open. I had to right click the hyperlink and save the document or .exe as a download, and then open it from the 'Downloads' folder.
I have tried opening IE9 with out add-ons, and it makes no difference.
I have also tried resetting IE's advanced settings with no change. I even tried using the restore point before I installed the updates in January.
I have no problems opening attachments if I use another browser, like google chrome.
