IE9 open in new window/tab does not load

$

Running Internet Explorer v9.0.8112.16421 on Windows 7 Pro x64 with SP1.

When the browser is asked to open a page in a new window or tab, the new blank window or tab appears, but nothing loads. There is a spinning circle in the address bar and along side the mouse cursor, but nothing more happens.

This behavior is observed whether you click on a link using target="_blank" or right click on a link and select open in new window. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled IE9. I have also experimented with the IE tabbed browsing settings including disabling tabbed browsing.

Hello,

I have been having an issue for the past 3 weeks or so when using Internet Explorer 9 and it only happens on certian websites. I thought my typing ability was getting really bad or my keyboard was going out, but soon realized that it only happens when using IE 9 and on certian sites that about 1/3 of my letters are missing, no spaces sometimes between words etc.. It is very frustrating as I do not want to switch browsers, but wondering why this just started happening. Any ideas? Thanks!

Silverlight Application hangs in IE9 on "display mixed content" click

I have a silverlight application that interacts with a windows application for performing document import  via self hosted WCF service of Windows application. The silverlight application is under https mode so whenever an import document action is performed for first time a confirmation message pops up "Display mixed content ?".On clicking 'Yes' Silverlight application interacts with windows application and displays Import dialog of windows app.

Now the problem here is in Windows 7 machine with IE9...If i delay in clicking 'Yes' of the "display mixed content" application hangs but if i click quickly the import action is performed and Import dialog opens up.This feature works in vista and xp mahcine...Only in windows 7 i have problem...

Is it anything related to IE9 issue?

Some of our network users are having their IE9 start acting super slow and locking up frequently restarts do nothing, clearing internet history does nothing, disabling add ons does nothing, resetting to default settings does nothing. No idea what is causing it things act just fine if the user uses Chrome or Firefox this is frustrating because we only have IE9 deployed and I don't want to support a second browser but I've had to setup Chrome for these few users that have been effected because no matter what I do I can't seem to get IE9 to behave properly. Also some of them are roaming profiles and it seems no matter what computer they access IE9 behaves the same way, so I have to figure it's something in their user profile. Any help or suggestions as to where to look would be appreciated. Thanks.

how to remove medfos.b

One week ago MS Security Essential detected a vius (medfos.b).  Thankfully MS SE quarantined the virus so my pc is not effected (YET).  I'm not a novice but not a pro at programming either.  I've scoured the internet searching for solutions from MS and have tried every virus detector/removal app MS has.  I've run dozens of security scans without success.  The MS SE virus alert keeps popping up every 5 minutes.  I've uninstalled JAVA 7 completely for the last few days as many of the websites report this may be the culprit....with no success.  I am not running Google Chrome either as that was another suspected entry for the virus.  I've also run searches for any files that might be related to these programs and have deleted them....again with no success.  MS SE allows me to remove the virus once it has been detected but not the source of the infection (what keeps generating the medfos.b detection).

I am running Vista Home Edition on a 32-bit processor.  I use IE as my web browser and have never used Firefox or any other browser.

Again, I've had my share of experiene with viruses and usually have success removing them quickly using MS tools.  I'm very responsible about keeping Windows updated as well as my security software.  I regularly run scans often.  I haven't downloaded any third-party virus detection apps as I prefer to rely on MS products.

I would greatly appreciate any help you could provide.

Thank you.

jscript.dll registration issue

I wrote an ASP application that we recently modified to be more browser friendly.  For the most part this means I took any client side VBScript and rewrote it in javascript.  Most client side script was already in javascript - just a few pages required changing.

Since then I have had 3 users report issues with the program.  (There are 20-30 who use it everyday with another 50 that use it periodically.)  So far the fix has been to register jscript.dll.  It seems however, that you have to do this multiple times before it stays fixed.  Interestingly, the buttons that I press to test for the issue were not part of the changes I did - they already were in javascript.  So the problem may not have anything to do with the rewrites - the rewrites just makes the problem more noticible.

We have also been rolling out a JAVA update to our users.  I don't believe any other software has been deployed to these users computer's recently - except maybe some MS Patches.  Is it possible the JAVA update is causing issues?

What causes jscript to unregister - or become corrupt?  Why do we sometimes have to re-register it again after a reboot?

Hello, I am having a problem with IE9.  I am running Windows 7 Pro with all the updates and patches.  If I go to adobe.com and try to download Flash, IE9 will prompt me to Run, Save, Cancel.  If I select Run nothing happens after that.  It is not just adobe.com that this happens but any site where I wish to run the program.

This also occurs when I want to open a document upon download.  If I am downloading a PDF file and I am prompted for Open, Save, Cancel, if I select Open nothing happens after that.

I have run IE9 in no add-ons and the same things happens.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

When i close IE10 an restart IE10 the Favorites Center are back again on the left side.

href in HTML area tag not working in IE but works in firefox and google chrome

Dear All,

I am new to HTML programming and JavaScript and currently struggling with compatibility issues between Internet Explorer (IE),  and firefox (and google chrome). I am loading an image ( let us say image1) from my local drive. I define an area within image1  using the HTML area tag (http://www.w3schools.com/tags/tag_area.asp) . Now I  href (from within area  script) into the second image, say image2. Till here IE, Firefox and google chrome href links work well, meaning all the browsers link to image2. In image2, I define another area and use the href within it  to link to a graph (made with jquery). This html link works fine in Firefox and Google chrome, but not in IE.  Why is this happening ?
Thanks in advance
Best regards

We are building a web application using asp.net and HTML5. One of the page requires window to be opened in full screen mode. We are using HTML5 native api support for full screen, and it works in Firefox, Safari, and Chrome but it is not working in IE9. Please let me know if there is any way to use this API in IE9 to open the document in full screen mode.

Digital Copy .wmp error messages all over the place

I downloaded a Digital Copy that came with a dvd and chose Windows Media instead of iTunes for the first time ever.  Regretting it now.  It asked me to upgrade my player and I got an error message which sent me to get a component upgrade.  The component upgrade was always unsuccessful for some mysterious reason (it gave no explanation).  Now the button for the upgrade is greyed out and the error message on the media player has changed saying "A Windows Media Digital Rights Management (DRM) component encountered a problem.  Contact Microsoft Product Support."

I have downloaded a 2012 codec pack, I have tweaked the registry (and set it back to rights when that didn't work), I've tried to convert the files, I've tried renaming the DRM file, etc. and nothing has worked.  I just want to watch the Avengers.  I have Windows 7 btw.

I can copy a page and paste it into word and it prints fien. I can print all word documents, Excel document, powerpoint documents, PDF documnets stored and opened from Adobe acrobat, but not PDFs while still online. I have reloaded the printer driver (HP 1020 laserjet) searched through any windows and IE updates all to no avail. I tried running IE as adminitrator and turning off "Enable protected mode". I tried to run Mr Fixit to recreate a missing folder and it said "does not apply to your problem" (or words to that effect). I am running MS Office 2010 and Windows 7 and IE9. Help!

Copy option on context menu not available

$

Until I upgraded to IE9 (RTM), I was able to copy images from a RSS feed to the clipboard.  Now, I cannot.

Here's an example:

Yahoo! Sports' From the Marbles blog has a RSS feed (http://sports.yahoo.com/nascar/blog/from_the_marbles/rss.xml), and several of the articles shown on the feed have accompanying images.  If I right-click on the image, Copy is greyed out on the context menu.  If I go to the same page on a computer that is running IE8, I can right-click and select Copy.  If I click a link on the RSS feed page and go to the page that uses the image, I can right-click and select Copy.  Basically, I can't copy the image to the clipboard directly from the RSS feed page like I used to do.

I have searched extensively on this, but found nothing.  Can someone shed some light on this?

 Thanks

Internal Error occured during printPage(). This could because of a GDI or D2D failure.

I have program that prints documents  without any problem apart from this case. IE update version 9.0.6 KB2675157. So far the error are recorded with only one specific document. The characters are Sweedish. I believe that problem is  specific character on wrong place. I have tried to debug on F12, using scripting. Here is the code generated  when it happens:

HandleError(

"Internal Error occured during printPage(). This could because of a GDI or D2D failure."

,

document.URL,

"CPrintDoc_Print"

);

}

Printer.stopDoc(); (Note that is line line 2115

}

I am printing it on pdf file using doPDfv7. The same is with  the real printer.

It says the error is on preview.js line 2115 characters 1 or res://ieframe.dll/preview.js

What can I do about it. Is there any way to locate what character is causing the above error?
