CCTV DVR No Longer Showing Images On IE9

Hi there,

I hope someone may have an idea as to what may be causing the below issue.

Our business has a CCTV DVR that we have been using via Internet Explorer successfully for over 12 months now.

However, since updating to IE9 on a few of our Windows 7 machines the images will no longer show, we can log into the DVR and all of the interface shows correctly it is just the camera images that will not show.

We have had success on only one PC using IE9, the difference being is that this PC uses Vista business and has an ATI graphic card (all the others that will not work have Nvidia cards including one Vista Ultimate machine)

As a test I formatted one of the Windows 7 machines and reinstalled Windows 7, then drivers etc before installing IE8.

I then logged into our DVR successfully and all the camera images streamed ok, after this I updated to IE9. When logging into the DVR now with IE9, again no images stream. The Activex is installed correctly and running or I would assume so as all the interface loads and comms commands work (retreiving settings, copying footage from the HDD etc).

When we first got this DVR we did have this same problem and after speaking to technical support they got me to run dxdiag which shown that Direct Draw was not available, they advised me to update the display drivers on the PC which cured the issue (direct draw then shown enabled and images streamed).

Although I would have thought display drivers would not be the issue as IE8 works ok updating them was one of the first things I did after the issue first appeared on IE9.

I have been in contact with manufacturer and they have said they will look into it but I just thought I would ask here incase any of you knowledgable folk may know what could cause this.

I realise this may not even be something to ask here also, it may be better answered on the Nvidia forums I just dont know.

The manufacturer has an online demo of the same DVR on their website so if any of you would like to see exactly what I am talking about you can visit this link: http://www.symphony-dvr.com/sections/demo/instruct.php

Just to recap and give you a bit more info on each PC here are the operating systems and graphic cards installed, all drivers have been updated:

Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit - Nvidia Gefore 6200

Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit Nvidia Gefore 6200

Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit - Nvidia Geforce 8800GTS 512MB

Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit - Nvidia Gefore 8800GTS 320MB

Windows Vista Business - ATI Radeon 4600 (Only Working Computer)

Thanks for any help and if there is any more info needed just ask

IE 9 will not Save Passwords

I am running W7 Home Premium and IE9.  For some reason IE has lost it ability to save Passwords.  I have tried all the obvious stuff that is recommend on various forums - Tools/Internet Options/Advanced/Reset and/or Restore Advance Settings.  I have also made sure the Tools/Internet Options/Content/Auto Complete Settings for "User Names and Passwords" and "Ask Me Before Saving Passwords" are checked.  Nothing helps!  What else can I do to get this thing working.  I have two other machines with the same set up and they work and act like they should.  The machine I am having trouble with is a friend's who has let several "free" virus scanner downloads happen and I am pretty sure one of them has screwed up IE9.  As a last resort is there any way to just delete IE9 and reload it?

IE9 Automatically Logs Into Websites

IE9 automatically logs me into websites with passwords, such as Gmail, Facebook, WordPress, etc.  I want to be able to type in the password every time as I am using a shared computer.  I am unable to log out, because when I return to the login page, IE9 automatically logs me back in.  (For example, if I log out of Facebook, I am automatically put back to my newsfeed.)  I have tried clearing all the history and cookies and unchecked User Names and Passwords from Internet Options-->Content--->Autocomplete, but the problem persists.  Please help.  Thank you.

IE 9 Error loading an ActiveX control

We have upgraded to IE 9 and a handful of machines will not open an activex control that we use for document splitting and viewing. Our environment is Windows 7 Sp1. 90% of the machines have no trouble after the upgrade to IE9 and reinstalling the activex controls in question. I have confirmed that the activex is installed and activated so not sure why some machines are having issues loading this control. Not sure if its a .NET issue or an adobe activex issue, because i do notice before receiving the error that an Adobe PDF icon appears and then errors out with this error. I have set the ActiveX settings exactly the same on our working computers.  Rolling back to IE 8 on the troubled computers fixes the issue. Also have removed IE 9 and tried an older installer of IE 9 but no luck. Anyone have any ideas?

Error:There was an error loading the Document Annotations Editor Control: The most like cause is due to ActiveX security settings. Please check your Internet Options or contact your system administrator

Thanks for your Help!

Internet Explorer not working

Hi,

As far as I know nothing has changed in the environment at work. However since yesterday random machines have had Internet Explorer simply stop working.

It will open fine just wont browse to any website internal or otherwise. Firefox or Chrome will work fine on the same machine trying to get to the same website.

I have spent hours trying to see what is going wrong, but cant find any errors to speak of. A reboot fixes it.

Does anyone have any ideas on where I can look?

KB2749655

This is one of 4 updates that loaded onto my computers and caused all of them to stop communicating with my Cisco PIX 515.
The result was to stop my systems from certifying through the PIX and get to the WWW.

The fix i came up with was to remove the 4 updates and shut down the automatic updates.
I could use some insight as to how to fix this.

It has affected my XP systems and my 7 systems.
I have also found that is i verify to the PIX using Google Chrome all works well.

IE 8 only works in safe mode after running malware scan

please help. I have tried everything that I can think of. it started off with a slow computer so I ran a virus scan that came back clean. then I ran a malware scan which found 4 trojen horses and the program healed them. ever since the malware scan IE will not open in normal mode and I am not able to open the "view wireless networks" screen either. I have done everything that i know to do. have done system restore several times with no luck. have chatted with microsoft who said that for 99$ they would fix it. I think it might be a registry problem but am unsure how to go about it. I am about ready to put the windows xp disk in and run the repair program to see what that would do.

Not able to print from IE9

A user of mine is having an issues printing a FedEx/UPS shipping label. I would try to print from IE9 and I receive a script error.

Here's some troubleshooting steps that I have took:

Downgraded to IE8 (fail)

Used Google Chrome (works)

Logged in as different user (fail)

Made it a trusted site (fail)

Deleted history, cookies etc. (fail)

IE9 is the default browser

Disabled script debugging (failed)

Uninstalled printers (failed)

I'm beginning to think it's a user profile issue, but want to save that till the last resort.

IE 9, local Intranet gets routed to our company's .com site

We recently distributed IE9 to our Win 7 x64 Clients. We noticed a strange issue especially users who working most of the time via vpn. It happens when browsing internet without vpn and afterwards connect to vpn, then browsing to our local Intranet Site  gets automatically routed to our .com company site.

Before we have IE8 and we never had this before. We don't have any specific IE 9 Group Policy Template set.

Any ideas?

IE won't open Hotmail site sporadically

I have a user at a client site running Windows 7 Pro who is having a problem in IE. About 1/3 of the time when she goes to the Hotmail website, IE 9 won't load the site but displays a blank window except for a message about not being able to load the page.

She says this happens every day, however it mostly does it after she has visited other websites first and then tries to open the Hotmail site. If she opens her browser and immediately goes to Hotmail, then it opens fine (or maybe rarely errors out, I don't recall if she said that or not).

She has never had this happen with any other website and she can go to any other computer in her office and browse other sites and then go to Hotmail and it opens every time. So there is something on her computer that is doing this. I tried running ipconfig /flushdns, emptying her browser cache, and setting IE to empty the cache when exiting. I checked her network settings and they're all good. I even checked her hosts file and there's nothing in it to cause this.

As I said, if she goes to Hotmail first when opening IE it always opens and more times than not she can visit other sites first and still open Hotmail. But at least 1/3 of the time Hotmail won't open if she visits other sites first.

Anyone have any ideas of what else to do? I don't see how any settings in IE could do this since surely a misconfiguration or a wrong security setting would cause Hotmail to not load -all- of the time, not just some times.

Since upgrading to IE9 (64 bit) I cannot open pdf docs, instead I get a message box asking me "What do you want to do with NavController?"  Options are Open, Save & Save As. Open does nothing, Save & Save As only save as a file type I can't access (NavController).  I do have the Adobe add-on enabled, the website from which I'm trying to open the file is added as a safe site, and I've tried reloading Adobe to no avail.   Any ideas?  Thanks

I have seen lots of posts but no answers.

I have Windows 8 Pro RTM installed from MSDN. I am running IE10 and I go to my Linksys router and get the usual certificate error. In all previous versions of IE, you could just click continue and move forward. IE10 does not all this, please let me know where this setting is so I can use IE10, I hope I am not forced to use Chrome. Also there is no option to run as IE9 for some reason.

Just installed Windows Server 2012 ... with IE 10

The same old crap......Security Settings (User Interface) is left at 19th Century

To make it secure, make all defaults settings very secure

How would my Grandma will know JavaScript and ActiveX is the same thing

How can you expect to scroll thru a listbox (Custom Security Settings) that has 84 similar looking settings, ... when flattened 52 inches long

This is absolute stupidity!!!!

IE9 Cannot download attachments

I created a thread earlier in which I thought we had solved the issue.  See here for link:

http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/ieitprocurrentver/thread/2c83bcb7-40cf-48b1-be40-cb2b78339501/#0492ce42-6c1b-432a-b529-6b139814b11a

When downloading from IE9 32 bit out of Win 7 64 bit the downloads don't work.  You get the "open, save, save as" but nothing happens when you select any of the 3 options.  Download manager doesn't even pop up.  This was happening on both win 7 32 bit and win 7 64 bit.  We solved the win 7 32 bit IE9 32 bit not downloading (same exact issue) by changing the MIME handling to a 1 from a zero.

See this article:  http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc749557(v=ws.10).aspx

For the Win 7 64 bit with IE9 32 bit we get the same exact scenario but that fix doesn't work.  These systems don't have antivirus or any other applications.  Installed from Windows 7 Pro Genuine discs and I made sure the first thing I tried to do was download attachments from emails or anywhere else that we use and nothing is working.

Do not save encrypted files to disk is unchecked, no protected mode etc...

I feel as it's gotta be a registry issue as the fix for the Win 7 32 bit IE9 32 bit works great every time!  So why doesn't Win 7 64 bit IE9 32 bit?

If we download from Win 7 64 bit and IE9 64 bit then things work as they should.  Download manager pops up and we're good to go.
